Description:

Reporting to the Senior IT Manager, at a hyper growth retail manufacturer in Suffolk county NY. The Network Administrator is responsible for the day to day technical implementation, maintenance, recovery, and ongoing performance management of mission-critical enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of IT experience, spanning several disciplines of system administration, including enterprise business systems, dedicated storage systems, web applications, various hardware infrastructure, network topologies, and highly available/fault tolerant systems.

The Network Administrator provides systems support to other IT/IS staff and enterprise users in areas such as support staff escalations, troubleshooting advanced issues, and working on projects as a technical resource in diverse teams. Must be able to quickly understand technical requirements, and provide guidance and feedback based on input from users, and Management, while maintaining corporate standards. Candidate must be able to create a consistent work product in a fast-paced, continuously evolving landscape, and be a goal-oriented self-starter.

Key responsibilities:

• Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade networks, servers, and storage systems
• Install and integrate new systems hardware, applications and integrations
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses across all locations
• Resolve problems reported by end users
• Define network and security policies and procedures
• Specify system/network requirements and design solutions
• Research and make recommendations on security, systems and network administration

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of Network Administration
• Comprehensive knowledge of Network Troubleshooting
• Experience with network protocols, software and hardware involved in LAN/WAN operations
• Experience in Microsoft Windows server environments including Active Directory
• Excellent understanding of Network and IT system security practices
• Experience with VPN and VPN Tunnels
• Dell SonicWall experience preferred
• Cisco Experience
• Proficiency with DNS, DHCP, VLAN
• Experience with virtualization technology VMWare
• Meraki knowledge
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• Certification: CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or CISM preferred
