Position Description

- Familiar with retail loan products & retail loan documentation
- Experience with Laser Pro is a major asset

Tasks:
- setting up loan closings with the customer
- verifying data and completing loans - Major function of the position (NOT - data entry)
- last point of contact before the customer sees the loan documents - therefore there is a great need for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Status checks on deals
- Problem solving with lenders and underwriters
- Daily logs - inputting deals

Mandate
The Consumer Lending Documentation Specialist I is responsible for the gathering and preparation of all supporting due diligence documentation necessary to ensure compliance, legal, audit, risk, and that line of business standards are met or exceeded. Standards include, but are not limited to the accurate and timely documentation of loan closing packages, as related to standard Direct Consumer loans. These documents include all those necessary to meet this mandate, which includes, but is not limited to; collateral security documents, Promissory Notes, Security Agreements, HUDs, etc. Must also have knowledge of entire retail lending process. Provides quality control to ensure loan documentation is compliant and free of errors. Professional client contact management is required.

Knowledge and Skills
- degree preferred -General comprehension of required loan documentation i.e. Appraisals, title products, flood certifications, trusts, car titles, bills of sale, etc.
-2 to 4 years previous banking experience required with Consumer Lending experience preferred -Loan documentation preparation knowledge is preferred -Working knowledge and ease of usage of standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phone systems, fax machines, copy machines, printers, etc.) -Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required -Time management, organization, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills -Strong written and verbal communication skills required -Ability to deliver extraordinary customer service

Key Accountabilities

(50%) Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness -Review all applicable consumer loan documentation related to the preparation of loan closing packages. (Appraisals, title products, flood certifications, trusts, car titles, bills of sale, etc.) -Complete data entry and/or verification of all required system information by effectively utilizing standard business unit documentation software.
-Ensure accurate consumer loan closing packages on all standard transactions.
-Produce documents that comply with regulatory requirements and contain correct loan terms, conditions, and collateral documentation by focusing on details and consistency.
-Ensure customer and business unit expectations are exceeded by resolving complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner -Project a professional and consistent image by adhering to the organization’s brand, corporate identity, and standards -Demonstrate the Our Way Model behaviors and values -Perform additional duties as assigned to attain and maintain high level of business performance needs and expectations

(30%) Customer Service
-Answers questions effectively and concisely -Prompt and focused attention to needs of applicants and LOBs.
-Strong written and verbal communication -Demonstrate patience, competence, and an empathetic demeanor -Capable of handling and diffusing difficult situations with a confident and professional manner -Take an energetic approach to understanding customers’ needs, meeting or exceeding their expectations, and solving their problems

(10%) Risk Management
-Demonstrate knowledge of banking regulations, corporate policies, and directives -Successfully complete all required annual compliance training courses -Adhere to all regulatory and corporate standards -Manage risk through processing documentation following established Consumer Credit Directives Guidelines and approved best practices -Ensure that the bank is legally protected through accurately completing all documentation adhering to the approved terms of the loan

(10%) Client and Relationship Management -Work collaboratively with members of the Consumer Direct Lending Team, and all LOBs -Provide best in class service to all applicants and LOBs -Develop sound profitable business relationships through adherence to all Consumer Direct Lending Team standards and guidelines

Authorities

To deliver on these accountabilities, the incumbent must have the following authorities:

Information Access – Authority to use and access confidential information related to employee information, customer information, product, and financial information.

Empowerment – Authority to take action within limitations as established by the business unit management and the incumbent.

Scope and Impact
The job is accountable for collateral security, risk management and the maintenance of internal and external control standards and effectively employing managerial accountabilities and authorities. This job has direct impact on the achievement of key business unit objectives.
Key numerical measures are as follows:

Productivity:
90.00% productivity is required to be at Meets Expectations. This requires the processing of approximately 43 items per day. Items can include Uploads, Closings, New loans, Changes, Memos, etc.

2.50% Error Ratio or below is required to be at Meets Expectations. There is an allowance of 2.5 errors for every 100 items processed.

Additionally, this role requires the individual to consistently contribute to their goal of Consumer Direct Lending while adhering to all bank defined policies for dress, attendance, continuing education and security directives.
