Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, devices, and control equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans new or modified solar installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. May include integration of battery backup and/or generators.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
Pulls wiring through conduit.
Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting wires together, and applying terminal caps.
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution devices such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter and voltmeter.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
Directly supervises up to 2 employees in the Apprentices group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and overseeing apprentices; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Must hold a current, valid Washington State Journeyman's Electrician (02) License, and must maintain that license, including Continuing Education requirements, throughout your tenure as an employee of Artisan Electric Inc.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as is typical for the trade.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
