Armstrong Flooring, Inc. (AFI) has a job opportunity for a Retail Strategic Accounts Manager to be located in Riverside or the Inland Empire. The Retail Strategic Accounts Manager will be responsible for covering key account sales relationships in the region as well as defining strategy, maximizing sales penetration, obtaining optimum market share and the greatest profit potential with assigned retail strategic accounts. Additionally, the Retail Strategic Accounts Manager will take the lead in selling solutions that ensure the greatest exposure for all of the company's commercial and residential flooring product lines.
What you'll be doing:
Gain access/cultivate effective strategic relationships with key decision makers and present business development recommendations.
Gather and analyze customer information to diagnose each account's business issues and reveal growth opportunities.
Develop a deep understanding of each RSAs organization, business model, drivers, goals, strategic direction, geographic presence, financial viability, cultural fit and management philosophy.
Stay abreast and inform management of industry, product, economic, and other territory changes that may impact sales and overall company business.
Develop a keen awareness as to whether the company is winning or losing and why.
Continuously expand share of wallet. Measure and strengthen each RSA relationship with the ultimate goal of becoming a trusted advisor.
Conduct ongoing business review and planning meetings with each retailer.
Continually evaluate current and future sales probabilities for opportunity in the pipeline and what it will take to close, market trends, pricing, competition and new opportunities within each product category.
Follow a defined strategic sales process and document progress in Salesforce.com.
Build credibility, confidence and collaboration through regular and ongoing communication.
Validate the business fit and follow-up on each proposal through negotiation and closing.
Leverage the company's total portfolio of products and capabilities in creating and fulfilling value-based retail solutions, to meet both the customers and company's current requirements and expectations as well as future potential.
Define customer engagement strategy; develop aligned retailer program presentations, and other customized account plans, to further penetrate each RSA at optimal profit margins.
Evaluate competitive products, merchandising, inventory, pricing, training, promotions, systems and programs within each product category and RSA.
What you'll bring to the table:
A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
3-5 years previous sales experience
A strong track record of achievement; Experience as a top performer with outstanding result
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
The ability to learn quickly
Results driven attitude
High energy level
Demonstrated ability and experience to effectively manage multiple relationships and priorities.
Valid US driver's license
