Primary Purpose of this position: Continual process improvement through data based decisions. Process improvements will be accomplished through identification of the key critical parameters and then working to control and
reduce the variation. Purpose includes leading, supporting and improving key production improvement efforts with clear communication and solid recommendations based on data.
Support achievement of key metrics, including quality, safety, productivity, cost and employee development, through process change and improvement. Apply process improvement tools including statistical process control, process mapping, control charts, design of experiments, LEAN manufacturing waste elimination studies, process capability studies, development and implementation of control plans and FMEA's. Define and develop process opportunities to reduce costs and to maximize productivity. Create link between operational requirements and material supplier capabilities. Support all facets of Operations with emphasis on improving productivity through
higher efficiencies, reduced scrap, and optimized labor. Define key critical parameters and develop plans to control and improve. Create recommendations to Operations and management based on data. Apply new technology with approved capital. Acquire needed information with limited budget. Work cross-departmentally to achieve results in a team environment. Support operations day to day activities while working longer term projects.
B.S.in Engineering, Science or technology or equivalent experience.
5+years relevant experience.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop working relationships on all levels.
Ability to work on many projects in a high-speed environment. Multi-tasking.
Ability to work proficiently with electronic databases and to write Queries.
Ability to learn new databases or other software.
Working knowledge of intermediate statistics, Statistical Process Control (SPC)
and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Project management skills.
Analytical, problem solving, and information gathering skills.
Advanced computer skills including MS Office.
Experience in a GMP compliant manufacturing environment.
BOTTOM-LINE REQUIREMENTS: (Candidates must answer)
1. Bachelor's in Engineering, Science or technology.
2. 5+ years experience as a Process Engineer in a Consumer Packaged Goods High Speed Manufacturing environment.
3. Manufacturing experience with intermediate statistics, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
4. LEAN manufacturing experience in a GMP compliant manufacturing environment.
