Job Description:

Oversee and manage daily operations of Receiving, Shipping, Quality Control, Transportation, Consolidation (divisional and growers), and Inventory. Facilitate the maximization of resources to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals.

Position Reports to:
VP National Operations
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Provide leadership and direction to local Operations Team.
  • Supervise and direct Operations staff; perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage personnel assigned, including:

    • Maintain a qualified staff;
    • Communicate areas of responsibility and performance expectations;
    • Conduct timely and effective employee evaluations;
    • Ensure proper training of employees;
    • Foster a cooperative and harmonious work environment to maximize employee morale and productivity.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner to achieve overall objectives.
  • Review ongoing operations performance results to targets. Take appropriate corrective measures and escalate as necessary.
  • Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of problems or matters of significance; take prompt corrective action where necessary and/or suggest alternative courses of action.
  • Coordinate safety training with all departments.
  • Responsible for purchasing and inventory of warehouse supplies and the purchasing and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
  • Conduct month-end inventory.
  • Responsible for facility management and upkeep.
  • Observe all safety policies and procedures. Embrace a high regard for safety, leading and serving as a role model for others.
  • Responsible for observing and ensuring Operations Team performs in accordance with HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Albert’s Recall Plan.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a highly ethical manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures; embody these behaviors in a leadership role, serving as a role model for others.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Fully qualified in forklift and pallet jack operation.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in a high volume pick/pack/shipping operation.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in a distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes.

Work Setting:

  • Regularly in an office setting; occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.

    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to warehouse environment; regularly exposed to moderate to extreme cold; regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; regularly required to walk and stand; use hand to handle or grasp, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

    • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, work in cramped positions, and climb.
    • Physical requirements include twisting, turning, bending, and ability to lift at least 60 lbs., push and pull up to 60 pounds.
    • May occasionally be exposed to moving, industrial-powered equipment and occasionally to moving mechanical parts.
  • Must possess a commitment to work a varied, flexible schedule to accomplish tasks and meet business demands.
  • Occasional travel required.
Education:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.

  • English/Spanish bi-lingual skills preferred.
