Field Service Manager - Virginia

Summary of Responsibilities:
This is a home-based position where the person selected will be responsible for visiting dealers in the state of Virginia and assisting them with their equipment needs. The position is responsible for reporting product deficiencies to parties responsible for corrective action, implementation of all company-sponsored programs, and assisting /counseling with dealers on service related matters, resolve customer complaints on service related issues, monitor dealers warranty compliance, determine involvement of goodwill participation on out-of warranty situations. The person selected can reside anywhere in the State of Virginia.

Summary of Duties:
•Resolve customer and dealer complaints.
•Evaluate machine performance in field conditions.
•Encourage dealer attendance in AGCO training programs.
•Provide service reports to identify problems found within the territory.
•Investigate goodwill requests.
•Assist dealer service personnel in diagnosis of unique service problems.
•Inspect warranty parts to insure dealers comply with warranty procedures
•Monitor Dealer warranty recovery rate.
•Closely monitor and champion dealers to complete Field Campaigns on the units in their territories.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Designate Required or Preferred)
Education/Certifications:
Degree in an Engineering, Technology, or Agricultural Sciences discipline or equivalent experience.

Experience:
Experience with mobile equipment required. Experience in the agricultural or construction equipment industries preferred. Farming background desirable. One year’s experience in similar position with a competitive or related company.

Skills:
Must be thoroughly familiar with the theories of hydraulics, engines, gear trains, electronic systems (12 or 24 volt), electronics, and air conditioning systems. Should have basic knowledge of how these components are employed in the AGCO products. Should be versed in the use of tools and diagnostic devices used to repair these components.

Must be thoroughly familiar with the sound business practices to insure dealer compliance to all administrative procedures.

Must be capable of producing good written technical reports on subjects of product reliability and performance.

Must be adapt in the area of human relations to avoid personality conflicts which hinder the ability to successfully execute position duties.

Special Job Dimensions:
Must be willing to travel and be away from home three (3) to four (4) nights per week. Must be capable of operation of assigned area with minimal supervision.
