Position: Company Facility Security Officer (FSO)

Work Location: Alexandria, VA

Reports to: Company President

Advantage SCI has an exciting opportunity for a full-time and highly experienced corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO). This FSO is responsible for protecting our company, customer's and nation's personnel and security operations and facilities. Make a difference and join our team. This position is assigned to Advantage SCI headquarters located in Old Town Alexandria VA. The FSO is responsible for establishment, oversight, management, and direction of facility security, personnel security, processing cleared contractor employees and corporate security program management and compliance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) procedures. Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create, update, monitor, and enforce security policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with our Government contracts' security requirements.
  • Review and evaluate security compliance issues/concerns within the organization; ensures corporate management and employees are in compliance with security regulations and directives in accordance with NISPOM, DCSA, client contracts, and company policies.
  • Effectively and accurately process personnel security clearances, prepare, and submit nomination packets per contract requirements; provide employee security training, briefings, indocs, visit requests, and debriefings; Administer and manage JPAS/DISS
  • Accurately process and pre-screen e-QIP applications (SF86/SF85/SF85P) for correctness, accuracy; identify and resolve issues prior to submission; accurately and timely process and manage current periodic re-investigations
  • Perform a variety of duties in the administration of NISPOM and other government security regulations
  • Maintain FSO certifications and access to government portals for security clearance processing, and accreditation of our facilities in accordance with DCSA and NISPOM; manage and oversee facility physical alarm and CCTV systems, coordinate with vendors to resolve issues, develop response plan and provide facility alarm response duties as needed
  • Develop and revise security plans, procedures/instructions, fixed facility checklists, SOPs and information security plans and procedures as needed
  • Maintain security awareness program with input to the newsletter and other methods; prepare for and participate in DSS inspections and audits
  • Review contract DD254s for accuracy and maintain them as required, develop DD254s for subcontractors when needed
  • Prepare reports for management as required; effectively maintain security industry relationships
  • Work closely with HR and Program Managers to validate candidate clearances and timely processing of candidates at government contract sites
  • Effectively maintain and properly store personnel security files and all records in compliances with NISPOM
  • Provide proposal security input; support existing contracts and contractor employees
  • Enforce government and company security policies, as well as provide direction and guidance on security regulations
  • Accurately manage files, actions, and records in all required portals; accurately and timely process and submit paperwork for SCI through customer appropriate SSOs
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with executives, company managers, customer SSOs, and DSS offices that supports our facility; is the Primary contact for DSS reviews and correspondence
  • Maintain active membership and involvement as a representative of the company in security related organizations
  • Manage SCIF space and Access Control Systems as required by NISPOM

  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in multiple disciplines of security
  • Minimum 3-5 years as a company FSO
  • Processed nominations/clearances to DOD and DHS as well as other government agencies
  • Well versed in the NISPOM, DD254 and other Government security requirements
  • Experience with DISS, JPAS, IFSD, Scattered Castles and e-Qip
  • Applicant must hold an active Top Secret security clearance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) clearly with all levels of management
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally
  • Able to walk upstairs and long distances without assistance
  • Noise level: Low to moderate
