Home Based Visitor (Bilingual)

Job Summary:

This position serves as Home Based Visitor for a Head Start/Early Head Start program working individually with 12 families to support the development of the family and their children; with the understanding that the HBV may be asked to assist with additional families as needed. The Home-Based Visitor will work collaboratively with a team of other Home-Based Visitors to implement the curriculum to achieve outcomes for children and families of all backgrounds and abilities.

Requirements:
  • CDA or enrolled to complete within one year –or- AA/AS, BA/BS preferred with at least nine credits in early childhood.
  • Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds, 20 times a day if needed.
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Work flexible hours to meet the needs of the families.
  • Participates in required professional development activities to enhance skills.
  • Experience and training related to social, human or family services.
  • Experience, training, and skills in assisting the parents of young children in advocating and decision-making for their families. Ability to develop positive relationships with children and parents.
  • Knowledge of community based organizations preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written form.
