The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Franklin Pierce University is CAPTE-accredited and prepares graduates for work in hospitals, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, wellness and sports facilities, and private homes. Coursework is derived from an established theoretical and scientific base that offers broad clinical applications in restoration, maintenance and promotion of optimal physical function.
Reporting to the Department Chair of Physical Therapy, the Director is the program administrator for the entry-level physical therapy program in New Hampshire. S/He will have administrative and functional supervision of NH Physical Therapy faculty and staff. The Director is responsible for providing effective leadership and adherence to all accreditation standards including faculty evaluation, professional development, financial management and ongoing program assessment.
The new Director must have an earned doctoral degree, senior faculty status, and an understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in physical therapy education. S/He must have five years of experience in higher education with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service to the community; proven strengths in strategic planning, leadership, budgeting, and management, and be licensed as a physical therapist in the state of New Hampshire (or eligible and license obtained within 90 days of employment). Experience in managing financial resources as well as human resources including student and faculty recruitment and retention is preferred.
