NGE is currently seeking a senior Health & Safety professional to establish and grow a successful Health & Safety practice in their Pittsburgh area office. Candidates should have at least ten years of direct experience in Health and Safety compliance for industrial facilities and experience in federal (OSHA) and state regulations, developing safety management systems (OSHAS 18001), and conducting auditing activities. The position requires a senior “seller/doer” with the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients and book personal sales in new consulting services.
All candidates must have a minimum of a BS degree in a related discipline (Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering or similar) and maintain at least one relevant certification (CSP, CIH, or similar).
Typical job responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
- Business development and sales (secure new opportunities, expand services with existing clients, and write proposals)
- Program and project management for H&S projects
- Junior staff mentoring and hiring for the H&S practice
- Understanding and actively supporting the company’s other practices through cross-selling
Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Office products (primarily Word, Excel, and Access) at an advanced level. Strong writing skills are required and writing samples may be requested from qualified candidates. If hired, the applicant should expect to spend time both in NGE’s office and on location at client sites, with the potential for overnight travel.
