An environmental services aide works for health care facilities to ensure a sterile environment for patients and staff to help prevent the spread of disease and infection. As an environmental services aide, your primary responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, floors, and all areas within a room that may have come in contact with patients, such as vents, televisions, and light fixtures. You may also be required to perform other general cleaning tasks. The qualifications to become an environmental services aide include a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in housekeeping.
