What Is a Seasonal Nurse?
A seasonal nurse works in a travel destination for part of the year. This job usually takes place during the busiest part of the travel season. For example, in this career, you may travel to Colorado at the peak of ski season. Your duties are to support the permanent staff as they deal with the influx of patients. Qualifications for a seasonal nurse are the same as those for any other type of nurse. You must complete an associate’s degree in nursing, and if you want to be a registered nurse, you must pass the NCLEX-RN exam. On-the-job experience can also prove helpful in your search for a seasonal nurse position. In addition to the clinical skills you learn in school, you also need excellent interpersonal skills.
