What Does a Valet Parking Attendant Do

A valet parking attendant is responsible for parking a customer’s car. As a valet parking attendant, you open doors for customers, drive cars to a nearby lot or garage, and keep track of all car keys in an organized fashion. You also retrieve cars for customers in a timely and professional manner when they are ready to leave the facility or event. In this job, you may need to help customers find the establishment they are seeking, providing assistance and directions as needed. If you work at a hotel, you must be knowledgeable about all hotel features, hours of operation, and other pertinent guest information. A successful valet parking attendant anticipates customer needs and assists with luggage, wheelchairs, or pets. One of your primary responsibilities in this role is to maintain positive guest relations at all times.
