What Does a Mobile Notary Public Do?

A mobile notary public travels to meetings where a client, such as a real estate agent, needs a notary public on location to notarize the signing of documents, such as loan applications or real estate transactions. Some mobile notaries also work in a traditional office setting and are on-call for travel assignments, while other professionals work exclusively in a mobile role for a company or as an independent contractor. As a notary public, you serve as a neutral, third-party witness to ensure that documents are affixed with a legitimate signature and all parties have followed the laws and regulations regarding their specific transactions.
