Job description

Job Summary:
Alertus Technologies is a leader in mass notification, dedicated to protecting people from harm with customizable and scalable solutions. They are seeking a motivated Technical Support Specialist to ensure customers' Alertus systems are fully operational by providing technical support and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Troubleshoot both Alertus hardware and software solutions with the customer to resolve technical roadblocks
โ€ข Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and screen share tools
โ€ข Collaborate with Technical Support Leadership team to identify, diagnose, and resolve any software or hardware faults, escalating to Product Development when needed
โ€ข Prioritize support requests in our Salesforce ticketing system based on set levels of immediacy
โ€ข Provide guidance to customers on installing Alertus solutions
โ€ข Collect and analyze detailed information to categorize and document requests
โ€ข Proactively analyze recurring issues and create innovative solutions
โ€ข Create Knowledge Base articles based on case information to provide ours customer and internal staff with recommended steps to decrease the time to resolution
โ€ข Research open issues thoroughly and quickly address those issues toward an accurate resolution
โ€ข Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
โ€ข Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
โ€ข Familiarity with hardware, software, & network technologies
โ€ข Ability to work independently & as part of a team
โ€ข Ability to communicate technical topics to both technical & non-technical audiences via phone, email, etc.
โ€ข Strong customer service mindset
โ€ข Basic understanding of core networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP(S), and TLS
โ€ข Ability to multitask & prioritize workload in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
โ€ข Basic knowledge of IT security principles and policies that impact network environments
โ€ข Experience in troubleshooting Windows systems
โ€ข Ability to travel on occasion
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
โ€ข 0-2 years experience in a Technical Support position
Preferred:
โ€ข Understanding of Windows, Linux and MacOS Administration
โ€ข Ability to develop expertise in application support involving REST and API integrations
โ€ข Familiarity with Windows Workstation Deployment and Administration
โ€ข Experience with supporting web applications
โ€ข Net+, Security+, or similar certification is a plus
