Job description

MADO Healthcare partners with persons who live with mental illness to offer hope in recovery and wellness.

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility and grounds.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or GED is often required; an associate degree or certification in maintenance or a related field is preferred.

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related field.

Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing repairs in areas such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

Physical Ability: Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting at least 50 pounds, standing, bending, and climbing.

Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with clients, families, supervisors and visitors of the facility

Must be free of a criminal background that is a Disqualifying Offense as defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health

Essential Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of the facility and grounds including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, etc.

Maintains the grounds in a clean and orderly manner including mowing, trimming, weeding, replacing plants as needed, shoveling snow, salting icy walkways, etc.

Perform troubleshooting and repairs for items/structures such as floors, showers, sinks, plumbing, walls, roof, locks, doors & door closures, cabinets, closets, hinges, heating systems, air conditioning units, appliances, furniture, drinking fountains, furniture, washroom fixtures, dietary equipment, etc.

Move furniture or other large items as needed or by request of the management.
