At Lighthouse Central Florida, we empower individuals with visual impairments to live independently and confidently. We're seeking a Manager of Youth Services to lead and grow our youth rehabilitation programs across Central Florida. This position will be a member of the Program Leadership Team, fostering and developing a collaborative team environment that focuses resources on each client's ability to achieve their programmatic goals. Responsibilities include leadership, team building/supervision, direct service, program development, quality and improvement, and resource management.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team delivering vision rehabilitation services
  • Oversee youth programs, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and impactful service delivery
  • Drive program improvements, innovation, and growth aligned with community needs
  • Manage program performance, reporting, and budgets
  • Collaborate across teams and with external partners to expand services and impact
  • Provide direct client support and assessments as needed; which may include nights or weekends

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a related field
  • 2+ years' experience working with individuals with visual impairments (or other disabilities)
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and program management skills
  • Passion for mission-driven work and improving lives

Preferred Certifications: TSVI, COMS, CVRT, CATIS, CLVT, or related

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Services, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in youth services, with a focus on individuals with visual impairments or other disabilities.
- Proven track record of managing and leading teams in a nonprofit or similar organizational setting.
- Experience in developing and implementing programs tailored to the needs of visually impaired youth.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with community organizations, schools, and families to enhance service delivery.
- Prior experience in budget management and resource allocation for youth programs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to design and evaluate youth programs to ensure they meet the needs of participants and align with organizational goals.
- Proficiency in using technology and adaptive tools to support visually impaired individuals.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on innovative solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment, fostering partnerships and alliances.
- High level of cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
