The Acute Care Nurse Manager (ACNM) is a member of the health care team.  The ACNM is responsible for the routine operations of the staff working in the Acute Care and Emergency Departments. The ACNM is accountable to the Nursing Services Director and provides supervision to all Acute Care nursing Staff including RNs, Paramedics, LPNs and CNAs.

Schedule: Full time,  Evening/Night shifts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 
Must be able to perform within scope for licensure for a RN.  Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.  Possesses leadership abilities.  Works well with other nursing, medical staff, and other departments.  Is organized and detail oriented.  We expect employees while working to interact with patients, residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors in positive, cooperative, and supportive way. Must be able to pass DCI screen for employment in a healthcare facility.

EDUCATION:

• Position requires current Iowa licensure as a RN.
• Graduated from a state-approved nursing program as an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degreed RN.
• May hold an advanced degree, but not required.
• Maintains current ACLS/BCLS/PALC, and TNCC certification.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous RN experience required in Medical, Surgical, Cardiac Care, ICU, and/or Emergency Room areas.  Previous management experience preferred.
