Job Description or Duties: The Industrial Distribution program is seeking an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) or Lecturer to begin Fall 2018 or Spring 2019. The Industrial Distribution program is a nationally recognized program preparing students for careers in technical sales related areas. The program enjoys significant industry support. In 2020 the program will move to a new, state of the art STEM building. The successful candidate will be able to teach in one or more of the following professional areas: materials science, mechanical power, manufacturer/distributor relations, mechatronics, and/or the theory and application of technical products. For tenure-track appointments, scholarly research and publication related to the teaching areas is also required. Additional duties may include advise and mentor students, student recruitment, I.D. career event assignments, student organization advisement, department, college and university committee assignments, and the potential of teaching departmental general studies courses. Must be willing and capable of seeking external funding, for program development, research, and student scholarships. Develop and maintain partnerships within the distribution industry and national associations to help establish career connections for students.

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Industrial Distribution or related field and recent and relevant industry experience to be eligible for a lecturer position. To be eligible for a tenure track position, applicant must have a doctorate or ABD status. Effective written and verbal communication skills in the English language and effective use of technology based teaching tools.

Preferred Qualifications: An earned doctorate in a mission appropriate field such as Technology Management, Engineering Education, Industrial Technology or Systems Engineering to be eligible for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position. Candidates who are ABD with substantial progress toward completion of the dissertation will be considered. Documented successful teaching ability at the university level, curriculum development, and evidence of building partnerships, service to national associations, and service to students. Evidence of potential to conduct appropriate research leading to peer reviewed publication. Preference will be given to candidates with recent and relevant industrial distribution and/or technical sales experience. Expertise in one or more of the technical areas noted in the job description.
