Description:

Reconciles cash for the Tom Thumbs Food Store retail sites and ensures the application of appropriate controls of cash posting and maintenance. Serves as liaison with retail sites and the accounting department in reconciling accounts and cash sheets for each day’s posting of payments. You will provides reporting of accounts to Controller and assist in all aspects of the organization’s accounting, finance and support functions. Job functions include but are not limited to: • Complete daily bank deposits and ATM verification's and corresponding item reconciliations. • Daily reconciliation of cash equivalent accounts – phone cards, money orders and bill pay. • Researches and tracks reconciling items and communicates corrective action Accounts Receivable team. • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations per attached schedule. • Assist in reviewing retain site paperwork. • Assist with recording payable invoices and payments, trade and non-trade. • Prepare weekly A/R customer balance report–record & verify charges and payments reconcile. • Record rebate deposits and enter rebate allocation entry. • Prepare and record end of month reconciling G/L entries. • File E-911 State tax. • Credit card allocation, reconciliation and processing. • Record store and retail site audits and maintain audit roll forward. • Support and act as backup to critical accounting functions: deposit verification, banking, payables, store paperwork review, payroll.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with 3 years of related work experience in a retail environment. • Intermediate knowledge of application and accounting principles • Knowledge of ERP systems and high volume, low dollar transaction-level experience preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Good organizational and time management skills. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing • Ability to work independently • Ability to exercise discretion and judgement • Ability to be a team player, and work in a fast-paced ever changing environment
