The Surge Fellowship, our signature program, is a Leadership Development experience for young people of color who are leaders in the field of education in Chicago. Our goal is to help develop these outstanding young leaders by giving them the access to high profile leaders in the field, raising their awareness on the historical and current issues relevant in education today, in addition to building their acumen in those hard skills that are necessary for success. The Surge Institute’s vision is to dramatically change the face of leadership in education reform, all with the goal of improving education options and outcomes for low- income children.
