Critical Resource Team/PICC
The members of this team are all trained Critical Care nurses with additional duties as Vascular Access Specialists. They are available to provide bedside nursing coverage for a variety of patient care areas when needed, in addition to assisting nursing staff with a variety of clinical skills to support patient care, including but not limited to: Code Management, NG/NJ placement, monitored transport, and Vascular Access placement.

--PICC/Midline Line Placement and care, including discontinuing lines as needed
-Monitors outcomes of PICC/Midline insertions
-Ensures that Central Line utilization data is forwarded to the proper channels
-Acts as a facility-wide consultant for all Vascular Access information
-Establishes relationships with prescribers to assure optimal usage of Vascular Access therapy
-Maintains quality in the insertion and maintenance of all Vascular Access devices
-Assists new personnel to obtain required training, practice and credentials to insert Vascular Access lines throughout hospital
-Supports educational initiatives with Central Line Care throughout hospital
-Vascular AccessIV Orientation to team members and new employees throughout hospital
Work Schedule: The Critical Resource/PICC RN will work a day/night schedule on a rotational basis or on a set off-tour assignment and is expected to work weekends and holidays.
