The Requirements

To be a strong fit for this Sales Representative opportunity, you will have: 
  • A bachelor's degree is highly preferred, ideally in Business, Marketing or a technical field
  • 0-3 years of sales experience; relevant professional experience such as an internship is a strong advantage Quick question for you - click here
  • Proven mechanical ability required; experience with technical products preferred; previous fluid systems involvement a plus 
  • Strong business acumen
  • Solid computer skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM preferred
  • Deep understanding of the Buffalo market and culture

You’ll work a territory that includes the greater Buffalo, NY area. Overnight travel will be infrequent -- approximately 4 times per year at the most. Initially, you'll be in the office a great deal. As you complete your training and head out in the field, however, you'll only be expected to come into the office once per week for meetings.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Sales, as Sales Representative, your mission will be to provide a differentiated customer experience across numerous industries including Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Semi-Conductors, Machine Builders, Aerospace, and many others. We will look to you to passionately engage our existing customers and OEMs and strive to develop future opportunities and relationships, as you also hunt for new business. 

You will take ownership of a developed and well-cared for territory that is also ripe with tremendous potential for growth. In fact, the person you are replacing is a Sr. Sales Rep who is taking another role in the company and leaving the territory in excellent shape. He will also introduce you to established accounts (you'll start with between 30-50 accounts) which you'll continue to grow. Quick question for you - click here

Your key responsibilities will be to: 
  • Grow existing relationships 
    • Provide on-site customer service with Swagelok product expertise 
    • Offer Swagelok product selection and fluid system integration advice 
    • Represent and grow Swagelok services including custom fabricated solutions, welder and tool rentals, and free delivery. 
    • Present new and commercialized products to customers 
    • Offer local availability and a personalized face to the Swagelok company  
  • Develop new opportunities 
    • Cold Calling and customer visiting with following up 
    • Offer sales demonstrations for various Swagelok products
    • Establish new accounts 
    • Seek new contacts at existing accounts  
  • Become an integral part of Swagelok culture by upholding and becoming an advocate for our core values (see the last tab for more information on our values.)
You’ll join a strong and seasoned team of sales professionals, and you’ll also partner with a variety of internal departments and contacts at our Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse offices.
