Position Title:          Jones Campus K-8 Technology Teacher

Reports To:             Principal

Salary Range:         $33,800 and up, annually

Position Type:        Exempt

Schedule:                 10 Month School Calendar for teachers

MAJOR FUNCTION:

This full time Technology Teacher will work with staff to deliver an integrated, generalist K-8 technology program with an emphasis in technology instruction as outlined by Colorado State Standards and that meets or exceeds state standards and coordinate within staff, parents and community to integrate and diversify instruction.

Student Instruction: 

  • Teaches 1st grade – 8th grade media literacy and technology class in the Humanities rotation

  • How to be Cyber Smart by discussing Cyber Safety and Cyber Bullying

  • Basic and advanced mouse and keyboarding skills

  • Basic word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs

  • Search tools and strategies, as well as note-taking skills

  • Internet Instruction Skills

  • Ability to teach the Google Programs: Gmail, Google Sites, Google Docs, Forms etc.

  • Basic Programming/Code

  • Basic CAD Programs

  • 3D Printing

Note:  This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings to support all programs, field trips and to monitor students before/after school or during lunch and recess.  You must be able to work these hours in order to be considered for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

  • 4 year degree from an accredited college or university

PREFERRED:

  • Colorado Teaching License

  • Technology Endorsement or approved hours in the content area

  • Previous experience teaching Technology Education at the K-8 level

  • Demonstrated technology proficiencies in the use of Microsoft Office, Internet, Simple Webpage building, Electronic Gradebook, and Email;
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team
  • Verifiable experience dealing with conflict resolution;
  • Verifiable experience working in a position that required organizational and planning skills;
  • Demonstrated implementation and use of instructional strategies to promote student engagement
