Position Title:          IT Help Desk Technician

Department:             Information Technology

Reports To:             IT Specialist

Salary Range:         $30,000 and up

Position Type:        Non-Exempt

Schedule:                 12 Months

MAJOR FUNCTION:

This full time IT Help Desk Technician will work with staff, students, parents, and community members of Pueblo School for Arts and Sciences to ensure a positive experience in the use of all school technology related software and devices. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. The Help Desk Technician resolves problems using remote diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as providing on site assistance as required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Duties

  1. Provide excellent customer service that is kind courteous, timely, efficient, and solution oriented to all (staff, students, parents & guests) end users.

  2. Assists in maintenance of VOIP Systems; configuring new phones, troubleshooting connectivity issues, etc.

  3. Provides support to all output devices including but not limited to: computer monitors, printers, copiers, fax machines, projectors.

  4. Receives and responds to incoming emails/phone calls and or walk-ins regarding computer, software, and other technology related problems.

  5. Remotely performs analysis, diagnoses, and resolves complex computer problems for a variety of end-users.

  6. Provide information and training remotely to school/district staff on the use of the various technologies, student information systems and technical procedures / processes.

  7. Provides technical support and user access to online curriculum, student information systems, instructional systems that have user defined accounts and permissions.

  8. Prioritizes and schedules resolutions, escalates problems (when required) to the IT Specialist.

  9. Accesses software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, frequently asked questions, and other Internet resources to aid in problem resolution.

  10. Performs quality assurance follow-ups to all helpdesk and assistance requests.

  11. Evaluates documented resolutions and analyzes trends for ways to prevent future problems.

  12. Provides assistance to other members of the Information Technology Department as required.

  13. Provides support for student information system, including end user support and reporting.

  14. Assists Special Programs with unique configurations and installations for target students.

  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Note:  This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings to support all programs, field trips and to monitor students before/after school or during lunch and recess.  You must be able to work these hours in order to be considered for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology

PREFERRED:

  • Training and experience with computer equipment, software, and peripherals.

  • Valid Colorado driver's license

  • A+ Certification is preferred

  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of Enterprise Network and Server management systems.

  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of LAN/WAN/WLAN network systems.

  • Prior programming experience

  • Experience working with Google Platform

  • Knowledge of Powerschool Administrative programming

  • Basic Website Design
