Power County Hospital is hiring a full time Radiology Supervisor.

Description

General Purpose:

The Radiology Supervisor is responsible for the technical and scientific oversight and overall operation of the Radiology Department. This includes management of personnel and the quality of work performed.  The supervisor performs X-rays and CT Scans necessary for the operation of the radiology department and schedules mobile imaging services.

Performance Standards:

  1. Supervise and participate in complex technical activities associated with the operation of x-ray machines and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  2. Perform radiograph exams as required by staff practitioners, set up and explain x-ray and CT procedures; position patients for x-rays and CTs using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient’s condition to attending physician.
  3. Perform limited evaluation of radiological examinations in order to determine if additional projections are required.
  4. Schedule and Coordinate mobile radiographic services.
  5. Supervise, hire, train, evaluate and schedule work for departmental staff.
  6. Manage department budget, including financial projections, labor and materials management and procurement, and cost benefit analysis.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of medical information as required by PCHD policy and the Health Insurance & Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  8. Clean, adjust, and perform routine maintenance on equipment; maintain inventory of supplies.
  9. Plan, schedule, and assign work for department, ensuring coverage for all hours of operation and call. Take call as necessary.
  10. Purchase necessary supplies/equipment and maintain an adequate inventory to meet normal operations.
  11. Serve as primary liaison with radiologists and manage service levels and costs of their services.
  12. Maintain records of departmental films; compile reports and analysis of operations as required.
  13. Maintain departmental policies and procedures and revise as needed.
  14. Maintain quality control and safety of daily operations and equipment.
  15. Advise health service staff concerning radiology needs, techniques, and perspectives.
  16. Perform other related duties, as assigned.
  17. Create and Maintain quality control projects as required.

  3. Ability to work independently and with others effectively.
  4. Ability to assist in safely moving patients as required.
  5. Low risk of exposure to body fluids.
  6. Ability to remain calm under stressful situations.


Qualifications
Education-Training-Experience:

  1. Associate’s degree in Science in Radiologic Technology and five years of experience or BS in Radiologic Sciences with three years of experience preferred.
  2. Two years of departmental level supervisory and scheduling experience preferred.
  3. Comply with continuing education requirements for radiology.
  4. Computer skills as required by department.
  5. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  6. Ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
  7. Must read, write, speak and understand English.
  8. CPR or BLS preferred.
