• Organize airport pick ups and transfers (and drop offs) for arriving international volunteers
• Provide meet and greet and cultural orientation on arrival and walking tour of local area
• Organize volunteer teaching timetables adjusting volunteer tasks to match their skills, confidence, and preferences
• Provide out of hours support when needed
• Help with organization of volunteer free time, suggestions where to go, taking part where practical to do so
• Prepare weekly reports for head office
• Teach basic Tamil Greetings to newly arrived volunteers
• Liaise effectively with teachers and volunteers to ensure positive cross-cultural communication
• Ensure volunteers are satisfied with their placement to the best of your abilities and that volunteers fulfill their obligations successfully
• Reports to the school director and senior administrators in his absence

• We are looking for someone with a naturally empathetic approach who is able to provide general all round support to short stay international volunteers.
• The role is based at a friendly primary school in the coastal city of Chennai in India. Our volunteers will need support to settle into their teaching positions and finding their way around.
• The successful candidate will be able to commit to the period October - May, have previous travel experience to India or the Asia region
• The successful candidate will understand the needs of younger travelers
• Have extensive experience of working in one of the following areas of work whether paid or unpaid: teaching/mentoring/support and can provide evidence to support this.
