(Archived) Medical Secretary
Job Description
Our Unit Secretary assists with administrative/medical duties as assigned in the health care unit.
Maintain accurate clinical logs, attendance logs, shift reports and other as assigned.Assist in development of new forms and revisions of existing forms.Inventory equipment, supplies, and medications as assigned.Answer telephone inquiries from family members and others without jeopardizing patient confidentially.Arrange for supplies/equipment to be refurnished/repaired as needed in an immediate manner.Enter pertinent medical alerts and data in Jail Management System.Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.Inventory supplies and make list of needed items.Stock and maintain readiness of clinic exam and dental rooms, intake tackle box, and code bag.Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience:
- One (1) or more years in a health care setting
- Must have medical terminology experience
- Computer skills with emphasis on Excel and Word
- Strong organizational and communication skills
