Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary: The Physicians Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner administers appropriate on-going acute, chronic, and family practice medical care services in the ambulatory care setting for clinic patients, under the direct supervision of the Clinic Medical Director or other staff physicians. The Physicians Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner is not precluded from performing any functions performed by the supervising physician of which the Physicians Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner is qualified and as delegated by the supervising physician.
The Physicians Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner is concurrently responsible for the development, implementation, and on-going evaluation of medical care policies and procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director.
The Physicians Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner are expected to understand and comply with all current laws, rules and regulations which govern the practice of Physicians Assistants and/or Family Nurse Practitioners in the State of California.
The Physicians Assistant/Family Nurse Practitioner works cooperatively with licensed, paraprofessional, administrative, and support staff to ensure the on-going operation of the Clinic. May also, directly supervise healthcare professional and paraprofessional staff including but not limited to handling walk-in patients, physicals, workers compensation, pain management, etc.
.Minimum Qualifications:
A.Education
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2.Successful completion of an accredited Physicians Assistant program or Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience
Level I Entry level. New graduate, or less than two (2) years experience in an acute care setting.
Level II Minimum of two (2) experience in a medical setting, with at least one (1) year experience in family practice clinic setting.
C.Licensure / Certifications / Registrations
1.Current valid California Physicians Assistance license or Family Nurse Practitioner license, or an Interim Permit.
2.Valid Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
3.ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
