Mitchell & Richards is a small, long-established CPA firm located in the beautiful College Hill neighborhood.  We serve a wide variety of clients that represent some of the best and brightest business owners in the local community, ranging across a wide variety of fields, including medicine, dentistry, law, real estate, and construction.

Our staff works directly with our clients.  This sets us apart from a lot of larger firms where direct client contact may be minimal.  This direct contact allows our staff to build good working relationships with clients and provides a much more efficient and rewarding work experience.  Our client base requires our staff to possess an extensive accounting background and a high level of expertise.

M&R is looking for a senior staff accountant with a wide range of skills. This is an interesting and challenging position. Because of the opportunity for direct client contact, this individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Due to the wide range of accounting duties and issues that he/she will encounter, this individual will need flexibility and good analytical problem-solving skills.  This position is very hands-on and requires an individual who is detail-oriented and self-sufficient.  Because we provide a small firm environment, we enjoy a positive, professional attitude from our staff, as well as our clients. 

Duties you would perform include:

• Substantial direct client contact
• Input and reconciliation of client data for monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation
• Preparation of quarterly payroll tax reports and submission of related tax payments
• Preparation of corporate, partnership and individual income tax returns
• Multi-state tax preparation
• Preparation of tax projections
• Personal financial statement preparation
• Corporate and partnership financial statement preparation
• Advising clients on various questions, concerns and tax planning issues

Software:

• MUST BE PROFICIENT with the use of Excel spreadsheets
• Use of the following software will be a plus to any candidate:

> QuickBooks

> ProSystem fx tax software
