Pediatrician

Our client in the Altoona Metro Area is currently looking for locums Pediatrician to join their team for an inpatient and outpatient coverage. They will entertain 2 physicians, alternating 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an Accredited Pediatric Residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and within 5 years of residency
• Current NRP, PALS, BLS Certifications Required
• Will look at PED and PEDOP
• Must have current PA license
• Skills:
  • Delivery Room Care:
    • Attend “at risk” cesarean delivery with neonatal team
    • Attend “at risk” vaginal delivery without neonatal team
  • General Pediatric Care: Children, Infants
  • Neonatal Care: Level 1 Nursery
  • Procedures required:
    • Outpatient Pediatrics
    • Inpatient Pediatrics
    • Nursery Level 1
    • Central Line Placement (umbilical catheters)
    • High Risk and C-section deliveries
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Chest Tube Insertion
    • Diagnostic/therapeutic taps
    • Circumcision

Practice Details:

• Practice Setting: Both inpatient and outpatient
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
• Hours/Shifts:
  • Monday – Friday, 9-4
  • Saturday – Sunday, on call
• Rounding: Both inpatient and outpatient
• Patients Per Shift: 25-35. 80% scheduled, 20% walk ins
• Call:
  • Call Type: Beeper
  • Call Ratio: 1:3
  • Locums call is for both assigned and unassigned patients
  • Average Call Numbers per 24 Hours

    • Admissions: 0-4
• MUST do circumcisions

• For EM Pediatric Patients (FDR Admits)

• Level 1 Nursery
• 45 Births per  month average
• Provider will not be required to supervise other healthcare providers
• Vendor can license a provider for this assignment
