(Archived) General Dentist -AZ

Medical Doctor Associates is seeking General Dentistry coverage for an Indian Health facility in the Northern Arizona, Four Corners Region of the United States. Pinon Health Center is associated with Chinle Service Unit and is in the Heart of the Navajo Reservation. The period of performance is to start as soon as credentialed and work thru September 30th, 2017 with option to extend. There is also opportunity to pursue permanent placement with the client. When working with the I.H.S any state license can suffice.

Additional details on the job: All age patients, no orthodontia or cosmetic, basic public health dentistry. Fillings, root canals, extractions, some minor oral surgery but not specialized. All outpatient. Preference is to General Dentists at least 2 years out of residency. Expanded function dental assistants on site who do Prophys, condense and carve amalgam restoration, place the rubber dam, administer flouride and apply dental sealants. There are also hygienist on staff but the dentists are expected to do the scaling.

Hours: M-F 8-5pm.

Pinon Health Center provides care to approximately 11,000 patients annually. The majority of which are Navajo and many are traditional Navajo who still speak the language.

The group of providers offer services in primary care, women's health, counseling, dental, dietary, and community nutrition, health promotions, lab, x-ray, native medicine, optometry pharmacy, physical therapy, speech therapy, podiatry, and public health nursing. When not providing care in the clinic our group enjoys book clubs, potlucks, gardening, fire pits, learning about the Navajo culture, hiking, rock climbing, camping, biking, cross country skiing. Downhill skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, fishing and national parks are all within a few hours away.
