Job Description
The primary job function is to provide a high level of customer service to assigned client groups for the following Human Capital (HC) activities: employment, compensation, employee relations, LOA, workers compensation, interpretation of policy, safety, training, and employee services.
• Serves as first point of contact for all HC-related issues within assigned client group.
• Actively listens and partners with client group by understanding business trends, goals and challenges and finding solutions together, with the business. Proactively assists the business and finds areas where HC can add value.
• The HC Business Partner is responsible for recruitment.
• Responsibilities include sourcing, screening, interviewing, background screening and recommending candidates for available positions.
• The HC Business Partner handles minor to complex employee relations issues and will sometimes seek the guidance of a senior member of the HC Team to resolve such issues.
• High exposure or complex employee relations issues must be elevated to HC management. With the approval of HC manager, may communicate and execute employment separations.
• Provides guidance and feedback regarding preparation and delivery of performance evaluations and employee discipline.
• Successfully collaborates with management and employees to provide creative, innovative, and sound solutions to business and employment challenges.
• Provides solutions in a consultative manner and executes effectively. Finds an adequate balance between risk management and business operations when providing solutions.
• Maintains and reinforces our HC strategy through communication, motivation, and direction to our business partners. Successfully meets or exceeds metrics and goals set for the team.
• Actively participates in various project initiatives. May lead small to large scale projects. Projects are delivered on time and successfully meet the needs of the business.
• Often presents new information to manager or employee groups. Must possess strong, persuasive oral and written communication skills. Group presentation skills are required.
• Recognizes learning opportunities of business partners and within HC. Develops and facilitates training sessions to address the need for learning and development.
• Assists HC Management in coaching and mentoring more HC support staff by assisting in employee relations issue resolution, project work, and other HC activities.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS)
• 5 years’ experience.
• PHR or SPHR is preferred
