Legal Research Intern (Fall 2017) in Washington DC Metro Area
The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) is a private, nonprofit organization, working to make the world safer for children by eradicating child abduction, sexual abuse, and exploitation through advocacy, training, and collaboration. As the workload of ICMEC continues to grow and resources are stretched, the contributions of interns are extremely important. ICMEC interns who share the same belief in our goals help to make the success stories happen.
The Legal Research Intern will support the Research Coordinator and the Director of The Koons Family Institute on International Law & Policy. The Koons Family Institute on International Law & Policy conducts and commissions original research into the status of child protection legislation around the world to help make children safer.
Interns will write, edit, and conduct substantive legal and public policy research for a variety of publications, reports, white papers, and other projects.
Interns may focus on topics, including: child pornography, missing children, sex offender registration, child sex trafficking, child sexual abuse, sextortion, and revenge pornography. Interns may also utilize foreign language skills and regional areas of expertise.
Successful applicants will be highly motivated students with excellent research and writing skills and a passion for public interest work. The nature of ICMEC’s activities requires that interns:
