This facility is seeking a full-time psychiatrist who is willing to join their team permanently. They are located in a small town in eastern Nebraska with a strong mid-western heritage. If you would like to know more or know of any colleagues who would be interested please contact me.

- Must be BC or BE by APBN standards
- Minimum 12-months experience
- Privileges within 60-days
- Nebraska license needed (willing to license)
- Permanent opportunity

- Both inpatient and outpatient opportunities here/Hospital versus clinic-based
- On-call will be part of the 1:4 rotation.
- 1-hour new evals, 30-minute med checks
- Full mid-level support
- EMR: EHR
- Expected to maintain professional working relationships with all staff members
- Conducts initial mental health evaluations to assess inmate needs and recommend treatment for criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history
- Conducts clinically sound suicide risk evaluations including clinical review, applying suicide risk assessment protocols, pertinent data/chart reviews, proper documentation and consultations as needed
- Meets with mentally ill inmates/wards for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, face-to-face interviews, etc
- May be required to provide clinical, face-to-face interviews at cell fronts in inmate housing units(this may require the ability to climb stairs and walk long distances)
- Consults on complex cases with the supervisor, and other staff as needed
- Adhere to the standard of practice for the selection and implementation of ethical psychological treatments.
- Develop supportive community relationships as assigned and approved by the supervisor.
- Conducts mental health education and develops additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender inmates/wards.
- Adhere to all procedures of the prison unit to assure patients have the treatment they need and consult with other physicians to ensure proper care is given, give proper documentation (SOAPE format notes) and be able to look at past documentation on patients.
