Physician - Radiologist position overview:

  • Perform full range of medical services to diagnose, treat, and manage patients care
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat of Radiology aliments and diseases.
  • Prepare and review case histories and obtain data through interviews of patients.
  • Reviews radiographic, imaging studies, and diagnostic information as ordered by patient's physician
  • Prescribe specific medication(s), treatment modalities and technical oversight (non- supervisory) of Technologists in procedures and treatments IAW MTF protocols, JC, and best practices.
  • Work under the general professional direction of the Chief of Radiology.
  • Provide consultation services for members of the MTF staff for purposes of specialty area training.
  • Serve in a teaching capacity to staff members assigned to the MTF and ambulatory clinics.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and receiving request for consultations and laboratory work of specific patients. Complete medical charting within 72 hours of patient visit.
  • Provide advice and opinions upon request by the Chief of Radiology or the referring physician in support of patient care and treatment.
  • Responsible for providing medical care during the required work hours, including routine call, as designated by the medical treatment facility (MTF), and shall provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur.
  • Assume additional administrative or clinical duties as requested or needed to ensure sustainment of normal clinic operations and ensure compliance with JC standards, to include, but not limited to, managing daily schedules, reviewing and disposition consults, monitoring appointment utilization and patient access to care, conducting mandatory clinical training, monitoring clinic supplies and equipment, ensuring enforcement of clinic SOPs and standards, conducting monthly peer review and attend staff meetings.

Interventional Radiology

  • Perform and interpret IVC filter placement
  • Perform and interpret angiographic diagnosis and treatment (including embolization) of GI hemorrhage
  • Perform and interpret percutaneous biliary drainage
  • Perform and interpret percutaneous nephrostomy
  • Perform and interpret percutaneous drainages of fluid collections Perform and interpret pulmonary arteriography
  • Perform and interpret catheter-directed thrombolysis of arterial and venous occlusion Perform and interpret embolization of miscellaneous hemorrhage, including post-partum

Pediatric Radiology:

  • Interpret pediatric radiographs (to include skeletal surveys), fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI examinations.
  • Interpret pediatric radiographs (to include skeletal surveys), fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI examinations.
  • Perform and interpret upper and lower GI fluoroscopy
  • Perform and interpret ultrasound enterography
  • Perform and interpret image-guided intussusception evaluation and reduction Perform and interpret neonatal sonograms
  • Perform/guide and interpret, where appropriate, fetal imaging (to include ultrasound and MRI modalities)

Neuroradiology:

  • Interpret radiologic examination of the head, neck, and spine, to include radiographs, CT and MRI
  • Interpret CT/MR perfusion studies and MR spectroscopy Interpret CT/MR neuroangiography
  • Perform and interpret lumbar/cervical punctures and myelography.

Physician - Radiologist position requirements:

  • Computer Competency
  • Undergraduate Program, Medical School (M.D. or D.O.), a residency or Subspecialty fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Pediatric Radiology and/or Neuroradiology.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology
  • BLS
  • ACLS highly preferred
  • Valid unrestricted medical license in at least 1 state, territory or commonwealth of the U.S. and will at a minimum be Board Eligible.
  • Certificate of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Pediatric Radiology and/or Neuroradiology preferred
