The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced C# (5.0 or higher) developer with experience with .NetCore, Agile Scrum development, and writing code using REST APIs. Quick question for you - click here Some experience with rules engines is also preferred. 


In addition, to be a good fit for the Sr. Software Developer opportunity, you will have:
  • At least 6-8+ years of direct professional experience in designing and developing enterprise level application.
  • A 4-year college degree in CIS or related field preferred. 
  • Broad experience in overall software system design and implementation.

  • Strong experience with source control systems, system integration, writing Unit and Integrations tests.

  • Experience with requirement modeling tools like MS Visio. 

  • Practical experience developing applications using technologies such as C# (5.0) .NetCore 2.0, CentOs, Apache HTTPD, Swagger.

  • Use of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and SonarQube.

Proven experience in designing persistence and caching models using both SQL and NoSQL.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Software Development, as a Sr. Software Developer, you will work with business experts in data mining operations, application development, IT security, and business processes to deliver custom solutions for our company. You’ll work on a variety of projects and expand your skill set in a number of technical areas. All of our development is handled in-house and we’re focused on automating our business processes related to payment integrity. As an example, one of your initial projects may be to help develop and build a financial application module. All of the projects you touch will be based on service-oriented architecture and you’ll primarily focus on building REST APIs. Quick question for you - click here

You’ll join a talented and experienced team of six Developers, who have a mix of database, UI and other skill sets. You’ll focus on the service layer / middleware aspects, where you will interact with the other Developers to get the code completed. You can also expect to partner with other key business stakeholders including Operations, other IT teams within Equian and more. 

More specifically, the key position responsibilities will be to:

  • Work with the business to assist in design and implementation of software solutions for assigned projects; including technical feasibility, design development, testing and performance optimization.

  • Stay current on trends, rapidly changing technology and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing with peers and key stakeholders. 

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the technologies assigned, ensuring adherence to system architecture, development standards and practices.
  • Identify critical path decisions, make recommendations, and influence business process owners to maximize project outcome and shorten delivery cycles.

  • Assist in operational activities to resolve technical issues and aid in application troubleshooting.
