Job Description


Summary:
The Program Coordinator has responsibility for oversight of program functions in accordance with
policies, procedures, internal processes and external regulatory agencies including but not limited
to DPH, DMHAS, and Joint Commission. Ensures appropriate staffing pattern to meet consumer and/or
program needs. Effectively provides administrative and programmatic supervision to staff in order
to maximize performance and productivity, as well as maintains adherence to fidelity requirements.
Monitors departmental budget and
 makes recommendations for future planning and growth.


Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:

  • Maximizes unit/group productivity by researching information about work activities and external conditions affecting the work, checking on the progress and quality of the work, and evaluating the performance of individuals and the effectiveness of the organizational unit.
  • Identifies and analyzes work-related problems, in a systematic but timely manner, and acts decisively to implement solutions and resolve crises through appropriate staffing and resource deployment.
  • Assigns work, providing direction on how to do the work, and communicating a clear understanding of job responsibilities, task objectives, priorities, deadlines and performance expectations.
  • Identifies work related problems, analyzes problems in a systematic but timely manner, and acts decisively to implement solutions and resolve crises.
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation is maintained in accordance with CMHA policy and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Principal Customers:
Population of adult or young adult clients with mental health and or co-occurring disorders from
CAC 19, Region IV as well as any referrals from across the State of Connecticut and their families.


Critical Work Relationships:
CMHA Staff working collaboratively to advise on program progress and direction of clients; Also
work with DMHAS, DSS, DDS, DCF, tenants, landlords, visiting nurses, health department, outside
clinical and medical providers, legal representatives, family members and transitional living
facilities to ensure needed supports
are available for clients.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:  Master’s Degree in behavioral health (psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family
therapy, alcohol and drug counseling).
 Doctoral Degree in behavioral health field a plus.


Credentials and Licenses: Connecticut license as a LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Ph.D., Psy.D. LADC as appropriate for services inaccordance with Connecticut State law and regulations. First Aid, CPR and BMT.  Valid Connecticut driver’s license, own a vehicle.

Experience               

  • Successful experience working with co-occurring population, preferably with in the judicial system, preferably a minimum of three years. Successful experience serving in a management role, preferably a minimum of three years.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in, or the ability to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system which includes appointment scheduling, authorization tracking, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge summaries.

  • Organizational ability to deal with many groups and individuals at once and ensure that agency, program, and funding goals are met.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to ensure the security and confidentiality of client information and records in a manner consistent with professional and CMHA code of ethics.
  • Awareness/sensitivity to all types of issues related to client diversity.
