Workforce Development Specialist for Launch Initiative for Transition Age Youth (LIFT) Program
CC's Clinical Housing Department has an opening in the LIFT Program for a Workforce Development Specialist (WDS) to join our growing team working with young adults who are exiting homelessness and transitioning to permanent housing. The Workforce Development Specialist conducts outreach services, asses LIFT participants' workforce development needs, and provides job coaching, referrals to employment and training services including skills building and services coordination. Along with a passion for preventing homelessness and collaborating with youth, ideal candidates will also have demonstrated strong collaboration and working in team environments, experience working in community-based services and providing crisis response, and strong clinical and administrative skills including sound documentation and organizational practices.
Qualifications are:
1. Bachelors in a relevant field or 4 years of employment/volunteer experience in workforce development, career counseling, or job coaching
2. Minimum 2 years of experience working in homeless and/or residential services
3. Prior experience working with young adults who have experienced vulnerable situations like housing insecurity, homelessness, poverty, limited networks of support, and addiction caused by mental illness and/or complex trauma
4. Prior experience working with LGBTQ+ people and other individuals from historically marginalized communities
Candidates must have a reliable vehicle as most of the work is done in the community, a clean driving record, and be able to successfully complete the agency's background check.
