Office/Clerical City of Downey Help Wanted Position:

Assistant Clerk

Hours: 15 hours per week (Hours will vary Monday through Friday)

Job Requirements:

Job requirements include, but are not limited to, being well-educated in the use of computers, a good background knowledge of Microsoft Office, good communication skills, the ability to work with the public, accurately receipt city funds and prepare deposits, issue business, dog and alcohol licenses, issue building permits, answer and direct telephone calls, occasionally take the minutes for city council meetings, prepare packets/advertisement for public hearings, a willingness to learn budgetary and utility billing computer software, work with the city clerk to complete various office tasks as needed, attend training meetings, write grants, a flexible schedule to allow work when needed, must be a self-starter and complete tasks without supervision. Pay will depend on experience. No benefits.
