Clinical Psychologist, Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute

Christiana Care Health Care System is hiring a full-time health psychologist to join the psychology program at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute in Newark, Delaware.  The primary function of this position is to provide direct psychosocial services to people affected by cancer, which includes individual, couples and family counseling, multidisciplinary team participation, inpatient consultations, and support and education group facilitation.  Additional functions include participation in program development, collaboration in research and clinical supervision of externs for an existing practicum and interns for a pre-doctoral internship program slated to begin in 2017.

This psychologist will join a busy team of psychologists at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and other embedded behavioral health providers throughout the system. The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center was one of the first sites selected for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Community Cancer Center Program (NCCCP) and is nationally recognized for its multidisciplinary model of care, leadership in research, and provision of support services.  

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in clinical or counseling psychology.  Specialty training in psycho-oncology/health psychology at the graduate and post-graduate level and/or 2 years of experience in a medical setting treating cancer patients strongly preferred.  Expertise providing evidence-based interventions with oncology populations, which includes but is not limited to assessment, diagnosing psychopathology, developing case conceptualizations and treatment plans, and the treatment of adjustment, anxiety, and mood disorders. Delaware license or license eligible.  Qualified applicants will also have training and experience in collaborating in behavioral research and program development.
