Position Description
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert regarding Navy Submarine Training both ashore and afloat and be able to lead the development efforts regarding training in support of the Advanced Development program (AxB). These efforts include embedded training products, such as videos and power point type lessons as well as intelligent, interactive gaming. An ability to balance budget limitations with effective training product development is a must.

In addition, knowledge of current online training systems as well as strong research skills are required to aid NAVSEA in moving embedded training forward. The candidate should understand the benefits and limitations of learning management systems, the challenges of developing learning content in classified environments, and the ability to work in a fast paced development process.

The candidate should be able to interface seamlessly between the Submarine Learning Center and Various Navy Type Commander Staffs to identify shortfalls and develop new training strategies and techniques.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse working group chartered with the development of training solutions for antisubmarine warfare combat systems for both Submarine platforms.
- Research and review emerging technology solutions related to on-board training.
- Propose methods for government consideration and execute a strategy for delivering embedded training tools as part of the AxB program software delivery cycle.

REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong Communication Skills
- Submarine training instructor experience (Ashore and Afloat)
- Efficiency with Microsoft Products
- Submarine Warfare Qualified with operational experience as a watch team leader in the Anti-Submarine Warfare Mission Area

DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Understanding of the Continuing Training and Qualification System
- Understanding of the Personal Qualification Standards
- Knowledge of implementation of intelligent games and their use in adaptive training
- Expertise in developing video and screencasts for training
- Navy Training instructor experience (Ashore and Afloat)
- Expertise in open source Learning Management Systems like Moodle.
- Experts in adopting the DOD Advanced Distributed Learning(ADL) Experience Application Program Interface (xAPI).
- Systems Engineering Degree
