Position Description
CGI's Lafayette, LA based Onshore Services Delivery Center is looking for several Software Engineers with the following skill set to join our Cigna Healthcare team.

Position Description

• Provide technical expertise through a hands-on approach to team projects, developing solutions

• Collaborate with developers and business users for overall design oversight on Big Data solutions

• Help develop Micro Services

• Lead and/or participate in the design, definition, planning, development, and implementation of projects conforming to Cigna’s Software Development Best Practices.

• Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of business domains, heath care analytics, and industry trends in order to develop an enterprise view of Cigna’s Big Data Analytic needs



Key skills/experience/education important to be successful in this role:

• Engineer skill set at least one of the following skills: Python, Scala, Javascript, APEX & Engineer skill set at least one of the following areas: Hadoop, Teradata, MPP, Database programming, Understanding of data models

• Experience developing in languages such as Java, Python, AngularJS, PERL, Visualization (Looker and Tableau) and others.

• Experience in a business intelligence or analytic development role on a variety of large scale projects (3 years minimum)

• Excellent Data analysis skills

• Ability to communicate at various levels within large organizations

• Provides documentation that can be referenced for cross-training and issue resolution.

• Ability to work independently on projects with minimal direction

• Strong interpersonal skills and effective team player

• Clear understanding of agile software development methodologies and key best practices

Educational Requirement

• 4+ years related experience with healthcare and insurance data.

• Degree in a quantitative discipline: statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, data mining, machine learning, or some other empirical science.
