Position Description
CGI is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our OnShore Delivery team in Lafayette, LA to service CGI's Health Care client; Cigna.

• 3+ years of experience developing in scripting languages such as Python, Perl or JavaScript.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Demonstrated experience with software testing methods, such as functional testing, regression testing, stress testing, performance testing, and failure injection.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated skill in using coding standards and being an active participant in code reviews.

• Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.

• Demonstrated experience in tools such as Jenkins, git, FitNesse, Selenium WebDriver, DevTest, ALM, UFT, or similar tools.

• Has experience in using static code analysis tools such as Sonarqube or Fortify.

• Working experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery desired, using tools such as Jenkins and TFS.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills to root cause analysis of complex issues.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience developing in languages such as Java, C++, C, C#, Python.

• Understanding of SQL and database testing for data warehouses.



Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive suites of automated test cases and test plans, maintaining and enhancing existing test automation framework, evaluation of test cases for inclusion in smoke testing, regression, integrated testing, automation of new features, and development of processes and tools to supplement the Development and Quality Assurance teams.

Work closely with Business Analysts, Application Developers, DevOps Engineers, and other Testers in Agile scrum teams to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Specific duties and responsibilities include creating, working with the DevOps Engineers to incorporate scalable test automation solution into the CI/CD pipeline. This included automatically triggered unattended (no touch) test automation scripts that will serve as a quality gate in the pipeline for continuous validation.

Additional duties include: maintaining and executing test plans/cases against a wide variety of hardware and software platforms including distributed and mainframe platforms, provide estimations for testing efforts, analyzing and communicating test results, defect tracking and participating in day to day testing activities. The QE role will also be responsible for enhancing performance and scalability testing efforts. This role will also include the writing of specialized testing tools and utilities for use in testing various platforms.

• Drive test automation and integrate with CI/CD tools for continuous validation.

• Understands the appropriate test cases to automate.

• Drive the mentality of quality being owned by the entire team throughout the organization.

• Ability to work with Developers to address quality issues in source code.

• Passion for finding efficiencies and areas of delay in existing code through the use of automation tools.

• Strong drive for continuing education and improving code quality.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Educational Requirement

Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or related degree with at least 5 years of experience
