Position Details Job order - J1216-2498 - Permanent Full Time Title Jr to Mid Application Developer Category Software Development/ Engineering City Lafayette, Louisiana, United States Job Description Jr to Mid Application Developer Position Description CGI is looking for smart and enthusiastic junior-to-mid level developers to join the Federal Business Unit. We are actively pursuing multiple systems modernization and software application development activities using low-code platforms, primarily Salesforce.com and ServiceNow. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with strong analytical and programming skills to learn the latest systems modernization platforms while working with a team of experts. Candidates will work on new development as we sunset older applications in order to create more robust tools for our customers across all US Federal strategic business units. Candidates will also participate in technical business development activities Your future duties and responsibilities • Analyze system requirements to create modular, object oriented design for system components • Analyze workflow charts and diagrams and applying knowledge of computer capabilities to satisfy system requirements • Create software modules/components with programming based on provisioned designs • Convert design specifications into software modules using industry standard programming methodologies • Analysis, classification and maintenance of system data and data relationships. Develop data models necessary to support a system’s functions and operations. • Collaborate with business, project management, quality assurance and other teams for timely delivery of high-quality software releases • Participate in team reviews of design and code deliverables • Create documentation required as project deliverables using provided documentation templates • Work in an agile environment, participating in agile activities that are a part of the team process, and using application lifecycle management tools required to track project progress Required qualifications to be successful in this role • Proficiency in development using object oriented programming languages like Java and C++ • Proficiency in UI development including JavaScript frameworks like jQuery, AngularJS, Backbone, and CSS frameworks including Bootstrap • RDBMS experience with databases like Oracle 11g/12c, MS SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres • Experience with object-relational mapping frameworks like Hibernate, Entity Framework, ODB, and MyBatis • Experience with systems integration using RESTful Web Services • Experience developing in an agile environment with processes like Scrum, Kanban, and SaFE. • Experience with test driven development • Experience with Git, Mercurial or similar distributed source code management tools • 2 to 6 years of hands-on full-stack development experience • US Citizenship is required • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required Desired Skills: • Exposure to low-code development platforms like Salesforce.com and ServiceNow • Working knowledge of design patterns • Working knowledge of continuous integration and continuous testing At CGI, we’re a team of builders.
