Position Description
CGI is looking for a Java Developer/System Implementation to join our OnShore Delivery team in Lafayette, LA to service one of CGI's financial clients.
• Java Developer with Spring Framework (3-5 years experience)
• SQL
• Strong programming skills. Ability to effectively code according to specifications.
• Ability to comprehend business requirements and design specifications
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Object Oriented technology
• Experience working on large projects, working with remote teams
• Experience juggling multiple tasks simultaneously; assessing status and risk of assignments
• Ability to coordinate with colleagues
• Ability to interface with clients
• Written and oral fluency in the English language
• Proactive, takes initiative
• Ability to assess risk and escalate when necessary.
• Dedicated to quality assurance practices; high quality track record
• Organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
*Ability to travel 75%
• Trade Finance Services Experience a plus

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The role requires at least 3 - 5 years of strong Java programmer analyst experience - successfully developing software on large scale multi-tier projects. Experience working in object oriented technologies is a requirement. The programmer analyst must have a strong track record of successful development and implementing systems remotely on client site. The role requires strong programmer analyst skills and strong communication skills as the individual will be interfacing with the various teams, business analysts, and an offshore development team. Programmer analyst will be responsible for understanding the full project lifecycle to successfully deliver quality work products on-schedule. The programmer analyst will need to juggle numerous tasks simultaneously and be able to coordinate communication with colleagues and report risk and status to team lead or manager. The programmer analyst should be able to quickly assimilate into the team and learn the company's software development methodologies
