Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking a Database Administrator to work on a DOD program based out of Fayetteville, NC. This program is tasked with managing specialized capabilities that are needed for major operations.


Your future duties and responsibilities
The DBA will work with software engineers, functional analysts, system administrators, and testers on a suite of client/server and web-based applications, performs other supporting tasks as required, is responsible for monitoring space usage, starting up and shutting down databases, diagnosing errors, administering distributed databases and developing automated backup and restore procedures.
Analyze business problems and design and implement databases that meet business requirements and support ongoing application development.
Analyze and resolve complex technical problems regarding the integration of object-oriented applications and infrastructure with relational database technology.
Monitor databases and perform tuning enhancements to optimize their performance. Develop and maintain utilities to automate problem determination, change implementation, and monitoring activities.
Participate as a team-member in data management strategies. Integrate data architecture with appropriate components of the extended enterprise and the data warehouse.
Participate in data sourcing, import and validation. Provide technical advice to Task Lead for supporting evolving customer requirements.
Comply with the project team's change-management processes and standards. Document and update database-related deliverables.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Minimum of 5 years of MS SQL experience
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the enhancement, management, and sustainment of Client/Server and Web architectures
CompTIA Security + Certification with current CE enrolment
MS SQL Server 2008 (or newer) Certification
Extensive knowledge of Transact-SQL
Knowledge of SQL Server Report Services.
Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and teaming skills.
An Active Secret Clearance is required.
