Job Description Data Architect (Fairfax or Atlanta)

Position Description
The individual will be responsible for designing the database system and data warehouse, participating in the development of the database subsystems, data harmonization and the implementation of an Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI).


Your future duties and responsibilities
Design the database subsystem and data warehouse in support of receiving, processing and provisioning HL7 EHR and claims data for statistical analysis and business intelligence reporting.
Participate in the design and implementation of harmonizing received data for provisioning in the datbase subsystem and warehouse
Work with a DBA and participate in the development of the database subsystems, Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) process
Optimize the data base and data warehouse design to optimize Business Intelligence reporting
Participate in the implementation of an EMPI
Prepare and deliver presentations on DBMS concepts
Extensive knowledge of relational database environment with an emphasis on MS SQL
Support customer specific data migration efforts
Participate and support database technology platform upgrades
Maintain and revise the data models and dictionaries
Provide statistical analysis support



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience
Demonstrated analytical skills, MS SQL experience, data warehouse implementation experience
Willingness to Support High Visibility Projects with Tight Timelines
Customer support experience
Executive level verbal and written skills

Desired:
Public Health experience, HL7 data integration, familiarity with the NextGate EMPI and Pentaho BI reporting
