Position Description
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, and Partners.

Successful candidate will have extensive Production Environment incident resolution experience in two or more of the following areas:
• Linux Administration
• Windows Administration
• Network Administration (Netflow, pCap, Load-balancer, SSL, Routing, ACL)
• Virtualization Systems Administration (VMWare, Azure, AWS, OpenStack)
• Security Systems Administration (IPS/IDS, Firewall, Log aggregation)

The primary role of this position is to monitor the servers and associated network within the cloud environment and respond to issues such as network issues, servers non operational issues, servers having capacity issues, response time issues and the like and take appropriate actions to restore service or elimate the issue. The position will determine if issues need to be escalated and if additional on call staff should be made available.

This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.



Your future duties and responsibilities
Engineering of SA-related solutions for various projects and operational needs.
 Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
 Install and configure systems such as supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications.
 Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
 Contribute to and maintain system standards.
 Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

 Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
 Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
 Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
 Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Systems Administration/System Engineer certification Microsoft OS and or Centos / Red Hat Linux and tools.


Bachelors degree and 5-7 years’ related work experience
Must be fluent with Windows or Linux networking, advanced desktop support, and have significant work experience or certifications in the following: Microsoft Active Directory 2008, 2012 Microsoft Exchange 2010
Microsoft file and print services Microsoft 2003/XP/7/8/10
Microsoft Office 2010/2013/365 Microsoft Windows Clustering
Microsoft Systems Management Server - SCCM 2012 Microsoft ISA Server Networking skills, including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, etc.
Microsoft SMS Server Maximo, HP Servers and VMWare
Familiarity with Mac OS (including mobile devices) and MDM solutions Exposure to Virtual Desktop environments is a plus
Linux experience in Centos and or Red Hat Linux with certifications in associated OS preferred
Strong understanding of Network Infrastructure is required
Must be able to get and maintain a minimum of a Secret Security clearance
